That's one of the things that need to be fixed. It's the redirect to appspot for logging in that threw me. Some parts have been difficult to test with the same settings as Jaiku on App Engine. Now that a first version is deployed we see what doesn't work and can work on fixing them.
thank you again @lemonad, i wasn't complaining or anything. it's just so great to have the mobile site working again, i hope more people start using jaiku again!
@cybette: Didn't take it like a complaint at all! Actually, you're the first person who has brought it up (that I've seen anyway) and it's good that people notice the bugs that are out there and bring them up so we can fix them :)
