I've never liked the way I looked with short hair. But when I went to the salon today with a friend, the stylist took one look at me and said that my hair is thinning and long hair only makes things worse. Sob. What to do...?
Carol..... I've gone to many "salons" and always get crap about my long hair... how it's not good for hair to be soo long, the thinning factor, the hair only looks worse if long and how much better it would be short. I say they r just jealous. ;) Go with what makes YOU feel good.

I can't remember the name of the guy who coined the phrase - but I'm not sure if it's that old..
It was used as a derogatory term at first.. by a bloke who wanted to stamp out guys who were 'embracing their feminine sides' so to speak...
You metro? Would have loved to see that. I used to be "a media type", even little hippyish, with dark, graphic glasses and "different" clothes. Glad I am not any more. Now I am just a corporate bimbo or something
Just please don't turn into a Nokia engineer with beige khakis, lacoste shirts and sailing shoes. Rather take up the Nokia Multimedia style, suit and Adidas superstars :)

I like how this conversation has evolved from hair to legal age in Finland back to hair for a brief moment (thanks Pirita) to metrosexuals (the term which from my memory have been around for quite a while...) to fashion styles (and apparently the lack thereof for Nokia engineers?)
no worries @pirita, i know i don't have much style to speak of :) jeans and t-shirts mostly ... well the male engineers make up for their lack of fashion sense with their geeky talk and knowledge which can be a turn on (at least for me)
