just remembered my Rovaniemi tripku from last year. There'll also be some kind of a tripku this year, to the south and more cities this time! But first special stop to Minna's place here in Tampere!
dinner was simply wonderful! i was soooooo full it was hard to move or do anything really... we opened presents, had cognac and coffee, great conversations, more cognac, more chats, more drinks... definitely a christmas eve to remember!!
on a packed Hki-Tre train, sitting next to two really crazy and noisy kids. Luckily i brought my headphones and just took a nap listening to some Tarja Turunen
a nice evening on christmas day, thanks to @r200 and @constantine, who had to put up with me making them sit through part of a chick flick... Now on bus towards valkeakoski
an amazing Tapaninpäivä in Valkeakoski... then short visit to Hämeenlinna today, spent some time with @whiteg, Matias, @kkinnu and @inga. another visit tomorrow to meet @jkniiv, but for now, resting my stomach and maybe watching some Coupling with J
There's also the Dragon further along in Raatihuoneenkatu 8, nearer the market sq. Some say it's more "authentic" (a relativ term, I'm sure), altho it's definitly smaller. And I don't know which kitchen it incorporates.
Suffice to say that I like Dragon more. As far as I remember their veggies are sliced into longer strips and they are crispier. Also the fact that one of the staff/proprietors serving there is a pretty hot 30-something with a pretty smile. ;)
damn, i can't believe i forgot to take photos in valkeakoski, maybe i was too excited (nervous?). Oh well, J's parents got a new digital camera for christmas so they were snap-happy, there should be some nice pics from them...
i believe CH is actually the only country in the world who does such a stupid thing.. not to mention that we pay among the highest prices for tickets. in zurich it's like 18CHF (~12€) for regular tickets. one reason more to pirate, hehe..
I remember same thing happening in the uk when i was there for the very first time. This was in the late '80s, luckily they have stopped having those breaks since then. Still remember that movie and the ice cream break.
Yeah, if you want an "ice cream break", you can always watch the movie in your home theater. :) Personally, I tend to pick more "intensiv" movies to see at the theater, so that I can keep my interest/concentration going*. Not that Australia was without its slower moments but the pace was good enuff considering in totam.
*) At home I'm used to starting, pausing, and restarting incessantly so that my bro for instance almost goes bonkers when he watches a feature with me :P
from time to time you actually hear stories here from tourists who didn't know that and walked out of the cinema during the break, and wondered why the friggin movie had such a strange ending.. lol

do you also have those ridiculous "snack-breaks" in the middle of movies in finland? totally destroys the whole experience.. i hate that!
10 months, 2 weeks ago by afr
no snack breaks, thank goodness!
