Which garments needed fixing? And why bother about sewing? Isn't
that like trying to fix a computer yourself: sometimes possible,
sometimes not, sometimes not worth it. We live in a throwaway
world. And what can't be thrown will be serviced; by smone
else.

new items, a couple of buttons & tears (as you know, I'm not
the most graceful or careful person). I don't usually buy too much
new clothes, rather spend the money somewhere else, plus I don't
have the luxury of splurging nowadays
And just because we live in a throwaway world doesn't mean I
have to be a throwaway person. People are just getting more and
more wasteful (myself included, which is why I want to do something
different)

Everyone should learn how to sew (Then again I feel the same about cooking). My sewing isn't pretty but it's functional.
