Ok, for the record I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive atm -- not slept a for a wink of an eye cos I've been distracting myself with my laptop (MacBook?) and compact camera (Powershot G9?) acquisition project -- just because I tend to hate "work" (read: concentrating on anything), in this case booking a hotel room. I could've checked the online databases (ebookers etc) for availability but didn't. Will deal with my ineptitude when I have slept a bit. In any case it's my loss. Just wanted you to know, @cybette my friend.
boy scout duncan saves the day! Tent is all set up, pretty with the ... Surprise sign on the side (hope we don't get harassed or something)... @jkniiv the tent is actually big enough for 3 but currently our luggage takes up the third person's sleeping space :P
@jkniiv, let me know if you find a room :op otherwise, we'll see you at the campsite! We'll be the ones with the swedish flag tent :o) should be easy to spot
there are several swedish bands plus stockholm is just a ferry ride away so i'm sure we'll meet some swedes. Funny thing is neither duncan or me is, but if jarkko joins us that might lend a bit more authenticity to using the tent :P @cityrat59 weather is gorgeous, a bit too hot! High today is 25 or something but should cool down over the weekend

Four hotels left in the list of six from last night. I might get a luxurious suite for an exorbitant price but that might suit just fine.
Hotel accommodation booked for Fri, Sat and Sun nights. Had to use two hotels cos of low vacancy issues. On Fri/Sat I will sleep at Scandic Julia, Eerikinkatu 4, and on Sat/Sun–Sun/Mon I'll be resting in Ruissalo Spa in a mini-suite made for two (a bit of luxury, yeah!).
@cybette: Btw I've been meaning to ask if your 2d barcode looked more like a rectangle than square? Thought it looked non-standard on the image I received but I guess it's possible if you need to encode more info in the code.
@dsample: Ahem, didn't we mention getting camping towels in the store? We most certainly did. Soon you will find out that you should've gotten all the other stuff we recommended too :)
Yeah, damn that my bike is in disrepair. A couple of girls took their bikes with them, so why not me too. Ok, maybe next festival (Uuden Musiikin Festivaali in Turku at the end of July, maybe). Or maybe there are bikes for rent in Turku. Could do some sightseeing on Sat when there are less of the bands I'm interested in.
Haha, don't know. Could be sightseeing the city if the music doesn't touch me. Jonna Tervomaa + Jippu are female solo singer/songwriters I kinda respect.
yeah, Ruisrock (heavy music) and camping was my thing, I should've been more considerate and not dragged duncan along. I actually had a good sleep last night in the tent :P
@dsample: Well Dunvan not all bodies are suited for those sleeping pads, I think I have to sleep @ home on mine to make me feel comfy about it.
@cybette: Well Carol, who knows when it comes down to camping not all are meant to camp!

Not sure this is my kind of music, but i'll give it a chance, at least the rest of today.
So far we've seen Stam1na, At The Gates and currently Ensiferum... This is the best so far for me, but it's still pretty harsh for my ears.
