We got there, had some carbs and were ready to walk, then after
about 30metres we realised we didn't have anything like the correct
footwear for an 8km hike over boggy ground :o(
at getting to my intended destination. I should have researched
and prepared better.... Found out just before heading out to
Nordkapp that it's not the "real" northernmost point, so my mind
was so preoccupied and obsessed with getting to the "real" point, i
let it affect my enjoyment of the nordkapp experience. We set out
for the 8km hike only to find that it's really not for us, more for
people who's been hiking all their lives. It's not about the
distance...anyway suffice to say i'm disappointed in myself not
just for failing to achieve the goal but also being blinded by it.
Still, i had the most incredible experience so far, and won't trade
it for anything else. Chalk it up to a lesson learnt
Ovi and sportstracker updated for today. For some reason
sportstracker was acting weird and i'm missing chunks of our
journey. This day has been full of highs and lows, much like the
undulating roads we've been driving on today ...
