@cybette, this is turning
into a very spur-of-the-moment trip :o) so many different ways we
could do things. Do we have any idea where we want to end up with
the car? At least that would give us an idea of when we need to get
there so we can get the train to Stockholm... unless we're planning
to drive all the way to Stockholm
for the road trip, suppose we begin from Rovaniemi, to the
Nordkapp (Norway) then go down to Umeå, Sweden (the biggest city in
the northern Sweden). In Umeå, there is ferry to Vassa, Finland and
train to Stockholm. According to google map, the total driving
distance is like:
Rovaniemi, Finland (709 km – about 10 hours 7 mins)->
Nordkapp, Norway (1,097 km – about 15 hours 34 mins)-> Umeå,
Sweden (639 km – about 7 hours 35 mins) -> Stockholm, Sweden
I don't think I can goto Stockholm (sounds so stupid) because I
will have another summer cottage trip on July 4th so I have to be
in Tampere on July 3rd, my plan is to take a ferry from Umeå to
Vassa when you are on the train to Stockholm..^^. The Ruisrock in
Turku begins on July 4th, you can take an overnight ferry on July
3rd and arrive at Turku in the morning.
Hmm, I know it is not a plan yet, just to throw out possible
ideas.
