it was certainly refreshing. poor guy was all soaked coz it was raining heavily for a while. i really liked the fact that he looked straight into my eyes when we talked. most people either don't do that or make me feel weird when doing that.
@whiteg: we were at coffee house, so nothing special about the coffee :) and yeah that's the thing about eye contact, it can be intimidating with certain people. but with him it felt natural.
@whiteg: Not all people are about the eye contact. Autistic traits, you know. I prefer words + firm touches myself. Being more up front about the interaction, so to speak.
@jkniiv a suprisingly large proportion of people with ASD actually have no problem with eye contact than neuro-typicals. The problems they face are more in not being able to correctly interpret or apply that eye contact.
@barneyc: lol, no problem, this discussion is interesting. it's too early to say what, if anything, will come out of this; but at least it's a good start :)

sounds like a good beginning. I always avoid direct eye contact, it scares me.

I would say eye contact is important, for me, it is probably too important that I dare not to do / try it...

hmm, how to make it clear... Eye contact is important to me as well. But I don't like eye contact with strangers.
