Slept through most of the bus ride. A guy came on later (i think in Hämeenlinna) and sat next to me, his knees kept bumping into mine (long legs and all, but perhaps also intentionally?) - he's cute enough so he's forgiven.
Reached airport, checked in and through security in 15 minutes (got patted down as usual), now drinking a €2.80 orange juice (want to sleep on flight so no coffee). 2 hrs to flight, 1.5 to boarding. I'm bored.
Bought some chocolates, my dallas coworkers seem to like them. Waiting at gate to board, switching e90 off now as i forgot to charge it last night. Well i do have n95 and exx as backup but can hardly keep my eyes open now anyway

I've been stranded in london for 10 days before, that was freaking expensive, and overnights in many airports due to delays and diverts due to weather etc. Flying is exciting, you never kno what's gonna happen, i love it!

yeah, i was so relieved when she told me the time of the next flight i almost jumped the counter to hug her :) and i pretty much passed out during the previous flight and must have been speaking finnish in my sleep coz the flight attendents spoke only finnish to me and my responses seem to convince them i'm a native speaker (although only words like huomenta, joo, ei, kyllä, kahvia kiitos, missä on vessa, anteeksi, hyvä...)

When iwas in the wakeup area I was only talking in English and I was really rude(not my way to be) so when I was back at my room one of the nurses came by to see if I was really Swedish. She told me the story and I was blushing....
they say in trauma situations sometimes parts of your brain shuts down while other parts are extremely heightened. But i was only sleeping! Lol. Now at gate, i think i should make this flight ... Hope my luggage makes it too! Have heard many many stories about lost/late luggages in heathrow

BTW I seem to remember some story (fiction?) about some Brits unmasking a German spy in WW2 who had been in some sort of accident, and they had set it up so that when he woke up in the hospital recovery room everyone around him was speaking German and he thought he was back in Germany and so started talking German... :)

lol, the -72F was at 38000ft in the air. Had a slight scare at immigration, almost didn't let me in the country. Finally got to drive my altima after 8 months!!! Sister loves her pink E65 and i'm playing with an LG phone right now (my prepaid virgin mobile phone). No internet access at my sis' place (ahhhhhhh help) so that's the first thing to find tomorrow morning.

We had a blast, the Titan was...words can't describe, you just have to experience it for yourself. Oh and Superman as well. vanaja festivals? Anyway friday was another coworker day, spent most of the day at "work", followed by happy hour... Several margaritas later, we rented some movies and had a movie night (rambo and cloverfield) until 3+ am. Up again at 7 am to airport for a tearful goodbye...they don't get easier, do they?
Rest of saturday was more upbeat. Shopping with girlfriends... I'm officially a size 4 :D Then we watched the sex and the city movie, 6 of us girls. We saw a group of 6 cute guys in the row in front of us... too bad they were gay :P Not sure about the houston trip tomorrow, still some stuff to take care of here, plus the two possible road trip companions had to cancel for different reasons :(
two of my favorite things that have given me so much joy and comfort: Altima goes to my sis and Steinway goes to him. at least i still can use the car whenever i come back here, but not so sure about the piano after today.
also had a screaming session yesterday and almost lost my voice (i hardly ever scream). i thought i could hold it together until the end but... i don't know why he does that to me. or rather, i don't know why i let him do that to me. i hate what i've become because of him.

thanks for all the hugs!! My itinerary got screwed up, they dropped me from the dallas to heathrow flight for some reason and my record show i'm only on the heathrow to helsinki flight. Luckily things got sorted out soon enough. Then i was again "lucky" enough to be picked while going through security for the "special treatment" -- they wiped down each of my 3 phones + my laptop very carefully... Not sure what they were expecting to find
seated next to lady with baby, a real cutie pie but let's hope he behaves... At least it's also exit row aisle seat - more than enough leg room for my short legs :P

in heathrow and half hour early! Screwed up my sleep on this flight because i actually slept well in dallas the night before, so i only got an hour's worth of shut eye on this flight. Now instead of being well rested and ready for morning in european time, i'm probably gonna be jet lagged for days. First time this happened :P oh well, at least the baby slept through most of the flight!
@kapu i'm scheduled to land in helsinki at 15:15, so probably back in tampere around 18? @pandagirl9 there's a difference between screaming (or in my case usually laughing hysterically) and trembling with excitement at six flags, and screaming and trembling with anger at someone.... At least i got to see you a few times on this trip, although no one-on-one time...missing you too!

Girls walking quite intentionally into guys' bathroom happens. This takes place plenty of times in bars if the queue to the women's restroom is long enough. :) I saw first hand these female opportunists at the 30StM concert in Helsinki Ice Stadium, too.
flight from heathrow to helsinki was delayed, crying babies all around me on that flight (they were having a wailing match or something), luckily my new Koss Plugs helped. Got my sis the pink Sennheiser CX-300 as early birthday present - might get them for myself as well, they're awesome. by the time i got my luggage (they made it!), it was way past 16, and i hopped on a not-so-express bus so by the time i got home in tampere it was 19++. slept through the whole bus ride and was probably drooling on the guy next to me. his arm kept brushing against mine (was it the same guy on previous bus ride? he got off in Hämeenlinna...). had my internet fix for a couple of hours and dozed off yet again around 22. woke up at 3am, wide awake, totally jet lagged.

12 hours to flight. Dinner with friends, pack, some odds and ends, cab, bus at 3am, airport, etc. Sounds good but never enough time :-p

Several margaritas later, we rented some movies and had a movie night (rambo and cloverfield) until 3+ am. Up again at 7 am to airport for a tearful goodbye...they don't get easier, do they?

Rest of saturday was more upbeat. Shopping with girlfriends... I'm officially a size 4 :D Then we watched the sex and the city movie, 6 of us girls. We saw a group of 6 cute guys in the row in front of us... too bad they were gay :P Not sure about the houston trip tomorrow, still some stuff to take care of here, plus the two possible road trip companions had to cancel for different reasons :(

two of my favorite things that have given me so much joy and comfort: Altima goes to my sis and Steinway goes to him. at least i still can use the car whenever i come back here, but not so sure about the piano after today.

also had a screaming session yesterday and almost lost my voice (i hardly ever scream). i thought i could hold it together until the end but... i don't know why he does that to me. or rather, i don't know why i let him do that to me. i hate what i've become because of him.

thanks for all the hugs!! My itinerary got screwed up, they dropped me from the dallas to heathrow flight for some reason and my record show i'm only on the heathrow to helsinki flight. Luckily things got sorted out soon enough. Then i was again "lucky" enough to be picked while going through security for the "special treatment" -- they wiped down each of my 3 phones + my laptop very carefully... Not sure what they were expecting to find

in heathrow and half hour early! Screwed up my sleep on this flight because i actually slept well in dallas the night before, so i only got an hour's worth of shut eye on this flight. Now instead of being well rested and ready for morning in european time, i'm probably gonna be jet lagged for days. First time this happened :P oh well, at least the baby slept through most of the flight!

@kapu i'm scheduled to land in helsinki at 15:15, so probably back in tampere around 18? @pandagirl9 there's a difference between screaming (or in my case usually laughing hysterically) and trembling with excitement at six flags, and screaming and trembling with anger at someone.... At least i got to see you a few times on this trip, although no one-on-one time...missing you too!

Girls walking quite intentionally into guys' bathroom happens. This takes place plenty of times in bars if the queue to the women's restroom is long enough. :) I saw first hand these female opportunists at the 30StM concert in Helsinki Ice Stadium, too.

flight from heathrow to helsinki was delayed, crying babies all around me on that flight (they were having a wailing match or something), luckily my new Koss Plugs helped. Got my sis the pink Sennheiser CX-300 as early birthday present - might get them for myself as well, they're awesome. by the time i got my luggage (they made it!), it was way past 16, and i hopped on a not-so-express bus so by the time i got home in tampere it was 19++. slept through the whole bus ride and was probably drooling on the guy next to me. his arm kept brushing against mine (was it the same guy on previous bus ride? he got off in Hämeenlinna...). had my internet fix for a couple of hours and dozed off yet again around 22. woke up at 3am, wide awake, totally jet lagged.
